Event two saw the NRS on Zwift head to the virtual Big Apple on Saturday; racing the reverse Gotham Grind route relatively flat circuit around Central Park. Though, it wasn’t until merely 1.2km to the line before the race truly opened up as riders faced a stout climb reaching gradients of 17%, which would see races won and lost.

Women’s Race

It was Justine Barrow (Roxsolt Attaquer) who took the honours for the Women, attacking in a not too dissimilar move that you’d see her make in real life, charging early doors and holding off the chase to take the win!

Men’s Race

It looked like Jay Vine (Nero Continental) had it all sewn up but for a last charge by Team BridgeLane, catching Vine at the brink. Andrew Christie-Johnston (Team BridgeLane) closed the substantial gap and took the victory, closely followed by his team as they secured each step on the podium.

Be sure to tune in on May 30, 9 am AEST for event three as the riders race through the Jungle of Watopia!
